Naquist — About

There is a point at which a signal becomes clear.

The name comes from a principle in signal theory introduced by Swedish physicist Harry Nyquist. The Nyquist Theorem states that there is a point at which a signal must be sampled to preserve its true form. Below that point, it turns to noise. Above it, the signal becomes clear, fully itself, received as it was meant to be.

This is how most people experience the world today. We travel more, see more, access more, and arrive home with less. Culture, craftsmanship, and human excellence pass through too quickly to leave a mark. Naquist was built around a single conviction: that the signal is still there. It simply requires a different quality of attention to receive it.

Every experience on this platform is designed to be that point of clarity, the moment when what is truly rare about a person, a place, or a tradition becomes fully audible.

The Founder

Shazia Naqui

Shazia Naqui was born in Karachi to Indian parents and raised in Italy. She studied International Affairs at John Cabot University in Rome, driven by a dream of becoming an Italian diplomat, and what she took from that formation was something that has defined everything since: the ability to read a room across cultures, to understand what is being said beneath what is being said, and to know which introduction, made at which moment, changes the course of something.

Her career has spanned international public relations, cultural diplomacy, and business development across Europe, the Gulf, and South Asia. She is the founder of Vita Italiana, a Rome-based consultancy specialising in international business development and strategic partnerships, inside which Naquist was conceived and continues to be built.

Her Indian-Persian-Italian heritage is not incidental to that work. It is the instrument of it. She moves between worlds with a fluency that is not learned but lived, and it is that fluency that makes Naquist possible: a platform connecting guests from the United States, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe with the most extraordinary minds in Italy, in a language all of them can receive.

Naquist is named for her. The Nyquist Theorem mirrors her own name almost exactly, and the principle it describes mirrors the problem she set out to solve.

Naquist is not a travel agency.

It is not a concierge service. It is not a curated package or a guided tour rebranded as an experience.

Every experience on this platform is centred on a person: a world-class expert, artist, scientist, philosopher, or craftsperson who opens their world to a maximum of six guests, on a limited number of dates each year, in a setting that belongs to their practice. The guest does not visit. They enter.

Nothing listed here can be found on Airbnb Experiences, GetYourGuide, Viator, or any other platform. That is not a marketing claim. It is a condition of being on the platform at all.

Before any experience is offered, it is tested against one question: could anyone find anything remotely like this anywhere else? If the answer is yes, it is redesigned until the answer is no.

Guests are transformed, not entertained. That is the only standard that matters here.

Naquist is growing. New experiences are being added across Italy and, in time, beyond it. A membership is in development for those who want first access to what is released and priority consideration for experiences offered to a single group. If you are an expert, artist, or institution and believe your world belongs on this platform, the contact details below are the right place to begin that conversation.

This is the beginning of something. The signal is only getting clearer.
